Ever hear the old baseball saying, "They traded him a year too soon?" That's what the Mets did by sending Don Rose to the Angels. In his first ML at-bat, Donnie whacked a home run. Had the Mets kept Rose and put him on the roster in 1972, he (not Beningo Ayala) would've been a tough answer to a Mets trivia question.
