October 16, 2002 Had some good years with the Padres in the mid 70's but by the time he came to the Mets he had for some reason lost his control.
May 14, 2007 I remember Butch pitching for us, I remember thinking that he had a windup similar to Luis Tiant. I see he was traded to the Phillies on 7/4/78 but I guess he never made it with them. Shared Rookie of the Year honors with Pat Zachary in '76.
October 11, 2009 I remember seeing Butch Metzger shagging flies during BP with his glove in his mouth. Which looked pretty comical, and very dangerous.
