HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

A J Ventarola
In a game late in 1983, the poor guy had a 3-0 count on Mike Schmidt in a game against the Phils at Shea. So he throws him a fastball down the middle which Schmidt CRUSHES to centerfield straightaway. But the wind is blowing in.... Enough to keep in park? Mookie runs back to the wall, jumps, and ROBS SCHMIDT OF A HOME RUN!!

Probably the only descript incident I remember involving Scott Holman

I remember seeing him on a page of the 83 team calender with Rick Ownbey as a coupl of up and comers. That alone tells you why 83 was such a bad year for the Mets.

I know this sounds crazy but at some point in the 1986 season, Holman was working out with the Mets in the hope of landing a minor-league deal. the only reason I remember this is, and this is the crazy part, if you watch the '86 Mets video really, really closely, and be honest you've probably worn out your version, you can see Holman in one clip sitting on that elevated bench out in the bullpen along with some of the other pitchers. I kid you not.

Thank you for also being a Mets freak and noticing that Scott Holman was on the '86 tape. The story sounds correct--the club let him work out in the hopes of latching back on with the club in the minors. Hey- he made the video-a place in Mets history assured. And a BP jersey of his has made its way to EBAY!!! I think I am more interested in it than he is.

Met Scott's ex-wife while visiting my brother in Mississippi last week. She's a bartender at a local bar, and she's still hot.

There is a picture of Scott in one of the Mets yearbooks of him sitting in the locker room with a HUGE ice pack on his shoulder. Unfortunately that pretty much sums up his career.
