I remember when this guy was interviewed after being traded to the Mets. This was during the dominant Mets days of the late 80's, so, he was really happy about coming to NY. He was so damn excited he said he "forgot to put on deodorant" before catching his plane to New York.

My friend Orie (no, not Kevin Orie) used to call him No No Nunez. Does anyone remember if he and Bob McClure were carried on the post-season roster? The Mets obviously had Doc, Darling, Sid, Ojeda, Aggie, Cone, Myers and McDowell, but that's only eight pitchers. Methinks either Nunez or McClure was included, but of course did not pitch.

In answer to the previous post, yes Bob McClure did pitch in the 88 playoffs, but Nunez did not; he got hurt during the regular season.

Seemed to have some real talent....but EASILY the most forgotten member of that great 1988 team.
