Share your memories of Dan Schatzeder HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY: Vinnie B. January 30, 2001 I think the Mets only got this guy to torture Ralph Kiner. Poor Ralph pronounced this guys name differently every time he pitched. The REAL Sox fan October 12, 2001 I work with this guy at a High School in Illinois. What a class act! Best memory? Game 6 of the 1987 World Series for the Twins! Way to go Schatz! Megan October 2, 2002 He's my teacher at a high school in IL. He's awesome, great guy. Still a Cardinal Fan October 14, 2002 Dan is a #1 person and teacher. Still knows a lot about pitching and has helped many a high schooler (both male and female) with their ball game. Proud to know and work with you Schatz!! Maxwell Kates April 5, 2003 Hey Dan, you still making home movies? On the back of his 1987 Topps card (#789), it said that was Dan's hobby. For some reason, my buddies and I all got a kick out of that. From what I've been reading about Schatz, he's as classy with students as he is with autograph requests. Back when I used to write players for their autographs, Schatz was one of two players (Ron Brand was the other) to actually apologize for taking so long. Great guy - we wish him well.
