HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

He had a couple of decent years, just not with the METS. He was traded for Tony Fernandez, who was another decent player but sucked while in New York too. Oh well, when you trade crap for crap, what you have left is a really big pile of sh*t.

SUCKED! SUCKED! SUCKED! A poster boy for the god- awful 1993 Mets.

Just like the guy for whom he was traded, did nothing for the Mets. In Jackson's case, though, a thyroid problem was the main factor. With Tony Fernandez helping to lead the way (jerk), the Blue Jays went on to win the 1993 World Series. The Mets, of course, went on to lose 103 games and finish with the worst record in baseball. Asked about the season towards the end, Jackson replied that he was going to tell his friends that he was a member of the 1993 Blue Jays and the 1993 Mets. Cute.

I never saw Darrin Jackson play, but I found a very interesting trade lineage regarding him.

In 1964, the Mets acquired Jerry Koosman as an amateur free agent. He was with the Mets until 1978, when he was traded for Jesse Orosco. Jesse Orosco was with the Mets until being traded in 1987 for Wally Whitehurst. Wally Whitehurst was traded in 1992 for Tony Fernandez. Tony Fernandez was traded in 1993 for Darrin Jackson. That's 2 World Series rings, and almost 30 years of talent that the Jerry Koosman signing helped bring. Too bad it ended with Darrin Jackson.
