Share your memories of Doug Linton HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY: Chris Messner On July 4, 2000, Doug Linton, now pitching for the Rockies' AAA team at Colorado Springs, came within inches of pitching a perfect game against the Marlins' AAA team (Calgary). The only Calgary baserunner was former Rockies' prospect Derrick Gibson, who rolled a weak grounder to second base in the 6th. The second baseman was very deliberate in making the play, and credit Gibson with running it out, beating the throw by a hair. JMPUFF1050 May 28, 2001 Doug Linto has returned to the Mets organization and pitched yesterday at Norfolk he did pretty good! DavidC July 16, 2005 Doug pitches for the Uni-President Lions of the Chinese Professional Baseball League in Taiwan. He is 5-10 with 3.60 ERA so far this year.
