C.J. Thanks for rejecting assignment to AAA. Darryl Strawberry had a long trip on coke then you did in NY. You blow C.J.!!!!! You sucked with the Reds, Astros, Tigers and the Mets. Quick an impressive resume you have there buddy! Too bad you'll be in the Indy Leagues next year. Thanks for nothing C.J. Somebody don't remind me he was a Met.

I missed the CJ declining the minor league assigment. That's a good one. Isn't this the guy that was so happy he was traded to the Mets he practically peed his pants? He was so happy to be traded to the Mets and out of Detroit you would have thought he'd do anything to stay here. So now he bolts?! Unbelievable! Does he really think he'll end up a big part of some other roster? OK, maybe the Expos will take him. Considering he grew up a Yankee fan, I really didn't want him around anyway. Screw you CJ!!!!!

C.J. Nitkowski is now an Astro. Only in today's baseball world can a pitcher with a lifetime record of 16-30 with an ERA of 5.37 get paid $1.2 million per season. I wish I had been born left handed. C.J. leaves an unblemished Mets record of 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00. Way to reach perfection C.J.!!!!

As the all-time Mets' leader in career ERA I'd like to see him back in NY sometime soon. This is a good looking guy with a good arm. In 5 games with the Mets in 2001 he showed he belonged.FYI - declining an assigment to AAA is a technical term which basically means the Mets did not want to offer him arbitration and therefore allowed him to become a free agent.

Forget about the rest of his 10-year career in majors. Five games, 1.000 winning percentage, 0.00 ERA--must be some kind of record.

He's now attempting a comeback at age 39. He hasn't pitched in the bigs since 2005.

Just signed with the AA Mets. Odds are stacked against him making it back. Good luck against the odds! If CJ does come back, hopefully some of the other commentators here will be on Prozac. They seemed to be awfully worked up about 11 years ago.

On the day of this writing (not necessarily the day of its posting), C. J. turned 40 years old. He had only one win as a Mets pitcher, which just happened to be the team's 3,000th victory!Happy birthday, C.J.
