Share your memories of Raul Gonzalez
HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

Great Start! 2 for 3 in his first Met game. He's even outhitting that traded center fielder, Jay Payton, who is only batting .379 with 15 runs scored, 3HR and 10 RBI in 18 games with the Rockies since being traded.

I like this guy! However, if you watched Sunday's Mets game against the Colorados, the announcers were saying that although Raul is murdering fastballs, it won't take long before opposing pitchers start giving him a diet of changeups and off-speed pitchers. Then again, Howard Johnson was labeled as a strictly fastball-hitting guy. And, 192 home runs later, look how he fared as a Met. Eventually, he learned to hit the junk. I'm not saying Raul will start bashing baseballs around, but he seems to know what he's doing at the plate. Hope he continues to play well and stick with the Amazin's.

He hit a bomb last night against the Marlins. Being a 28 year old rookie he'll never evolve to an every day player but he should be a nice bench player with decent power if the Mets hold onto him.

Grounded into a 5-2-3 double play with the bases loades in a game where the Mets down by 1 in the 9th in Milwaukee to end the game. I seriously cannot remember ever before seeing a game end on a 5-2-3 double play. Just more evidence that this team's motto is: The 2003 New York Mets...How bad can it get before it's all over?

We're starting to see why he never made it out of the minors before coming to the Mets. He was great for the first week he was up but has been close to an automatic out since then. Oddly at this point, I'm looking forward to Burnitz geting back.

Every time he had an at-bat, I clicked on the radio and muted the television to hear Murph say his name."Rah-ooool Gahn Zahl EEEEEEEeeeez." God Bless you Murph. God Bless the name Gonzalez.
