August 29, 2003 lt took 4 years but this first round pick of '99 finally made it to the majors. l hope he has a long and prosperous major league career...with the Mets that is.
September 30, 2003 Came off the bench on 9/4/03 to hit a pinch hit home run (his first major league) off of Jose Mesa of the Phillies. At the time Mesa was in the Phillies' dog house as was Armando Benitez, and Mesa lost his closers role and probably ended his career. Unfortunately the Mets lost that game after a valiant come from behind rally that fell short. I met him up in Montreal the following weekend and he signed autographs for all of us Mets fans who schlepped up there, he even signed for little Expos fans that didn't speak a word of English. He in the Major Leagues is like a kid in a candy store. Maybe that explains why he's in his early 20's and still wears braces. Hopefully when in Queens when your hear "Redman" you won't think of St. John's.
October 30, 2005 When the Mets were in Houston, he signed a ball for my young daughter the Mets fan, even though I was with her and was all decked out in my Astros gear.
November 24, 2006 Gets my vote for the coolest Mets name ever--Prentice Montezz Redman.
July 1, 2010 Still struggling to get back to the majors. Unfortunately, just got a 50-game suspension for steroid use. That probably kills any chance of making it back.
