October 18, 2004 Mike was really pretty effective this year, even if the horse was already out of the barn for many of his appearances. Like Heath Bell, he sported really nice ratios of strikeouts-to-innings and strikeouts-to- walks. He also didn't give up any homers, unlike Bell, who served up five (something I forgot to note).
He's kind of old (that gray goatee!) and he is a journeyman. I don't know if he'll be back or if he'll revert to mediocrity.
October 20, 2004 Mike looked real good with the Mets he was blowing everyone away. I'd bring him back to be one of Loop's setup men.
June 6, 2008 DeJean might have had a good 04, and had the rep as being a good set up man when the Mets got him, but he stunk up the joint in 05. I used to call my brother and say, oh no "mustard" is coming in! He blew so many games for Willie in the early part of 05 that he was reduced to a mop-up role, then he was gone! He was a major reason why the Mets didn't win the division in 05.
