September 8, 2004 Good fielder, not much of a bat. Would be a good back up, utility guy. Best thing of all, we were able to unload Cedeno for him.
May 6, 2005 Last September 5 my wife and our 3 children went to Philly, courtesy of a vendor to see the Mets vs Phils. Since we had tickets for a suite our tickets gave us access to the field boxes. While we were down there my son got to take his picture with Jeff Keppinger, Heath Bell, as the team was coming off the field I yelled "Wilson!" and Wilson Delgado threw a warm up ball which I managed to catch barehanded. Was my son impressed. Had I dropped it I would have never lived it down.
May 21, 2005 Wilson is back in the news, but not for the right reasons. He tested positive for banned substances and is suspended from his minor league team (Albuquerque in the PCL) for 15 days.
March 29, 2006 Baseball Prospectus 2005 had a funny comment about him. They said he's the rare guy who never has a continuous starting role, never does anything memorable, has no obvious talent, and yet puts together a 10-year major league career. Delgado did a respectable job filling in for our several hurt infielders at the end of 2004.
February 11, 2009 I have absolutely no memory of this guy, but his numbers weren't so bad for a shortstop. .292 with 2HRs in limited duty, not shabby.
