Sounds like a character from a sci-fi movie. "Hand me the lunar measurements Dr. Hamulak." Too bad he didn't stick around long enough to become a cult hero.

Alas, I doubt the Dodger fans will afford him the status of a cult hero, despite having a nickname ("Tim the Hammer"). One interesting bit of trivia, though...when he left the Mets for the Dodgers along with Jae Weong Seo, it became the fourth professional baseball organization in as many years. He's had past problems in AAA ball, especially with the Pawtucket Red Sox. He seems to be able to throw a fastball, but not much else. And you know that control problems added onto this do not a Major League pitcher make.

A career ERA of 7.43! His ERA with the Mets was 23.14 with three homers surrendered in 2.1 innings. Ouch! At least he can say he played in the majors.

The Mets were Tim Hamulack's fifth organization, so it's kind of cool that he beat the odds and finally made the majors with them. He was one of those guys who was awesome in the minors, but just not quite good enough for the big leagues. In 2005, his sole year in the Mets system, he had a 1.13 ERA in 49 minor league relief appearances. Then his ERA was over 23 with the Mets.
So it goes.
Notably, he was part of the deal that brought Duaner Sanchez to New York. Sanchez gave the club an awesome 2006 campaign.
