I saw him against the Phils and he did ok but got designated for assignment after the game. He didn't pitch great but didn't pitch bad for the Mets.

Pk I guess you missed Jeremi's brutal start against the Yankees right? The only good thing I could say about him is he wasn't as bad as Jose Lima.

Believe it or not, at one time, Jeremi was a top-notch pitching prospect with the Chicago Cubs. In fact, in 1997, he was one of their top pitchers and was 9th in Rookie of the Year voting. Then came the arm problems. He pitched in 1998, then almost totally dropped off the radar until 2003, despite posting good numbers between those years. I really have no idea why he wasn't brought up during this period. In '03, he was the ace of the pitiful Tampa Bay Devil Rays (best ERA with 100+ innings pitched), and then he hurt his arm AGAIN in '04. This time, his stats went down the pipe along with his arm. But this year, he pitched AAA ball for the Syracuse Chiefs, affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays and turned in a 2.78 ERA. I'm almost positive he has over 100 Minor League decisions, which is a rarity these days. He's almost the definition of a "AAAA" player...he's clearly dominant in AAA, but is just awful in the Majors.

Nearly forgotten in life, but now remembered in his unusual death. Geremi, we hardly knew ye. Rest in peace.
