July 13, 2006 This guy had eye popping numbers in AAA. 25 innings, 51 strike outs, 8 hits, 8 walks. My God that is awesome. But can he come close to that in Flushing? I think so. I hope so. He's 27 so he's no kid. He has real good stuff and looked good his first two times out. He could be awesome if he has the composure to play in NY. We'll see.
July 14, 2006 Looks like he needs to get a little more command on his slider, but judging from his comments, he'll find it. I like what I've seen so far.
November 24, 2006 Gone already to the Marlins for a couple of under performing lefties. Owens is primed to shine on the big stage and is now gone. I think he'll be awesome for The Marlins.
October 18, 2007 Owens is kind of a sad figure...a guy with a ton of talent, but constantly hitting the DL due to his overly complex windup and arm action. In the limited playing time he'll likely experience, I have no doubt he'll be a good pitcher. But aside from that, he is and would have been this year next to useless for us. I'm actually glad we unloaded him for SOMETHING. But Matt Lindstrom is a whole 'nother story...
