Game winning RBI hit in the 10th against the Dodgers on July 21, 2007 -- will he still be around on Tuesday when Alou comes back? Who knows. But at least he contributed while he was around.

Great interview after helping the Mets beat L.A. on 22 July 07. Nice that he mentioned his dad as a source of encouragement. He also looks a little like Esix Snead.

Chip Ambres was DFA'd today, as was expected. Even if he never plays another game for the Mets at least he'll always have that game winning hit against LA.

With New Orleans in the middle of a playoff run I'm not surprised Chip hasn't been called up yet, but I would hope there's room for him sometime during September as an extra bat off the bench. At least he deserves the chance to get an at bat at Shea and get the well deserved hand coming to him for his key hit in LA. I think Mets fans have long memories about players who have come through and he deserves a chance for some big cheers from Mets fans at least once.

I hope one more cup of coffee this year is on the horizon for Chip.

Did more in one at-bat than Richie Hebner did in a full season

One hit, one gw rbi. Way to make the most of limited opportunity.

He was the second coming of Ross Jones, another player who won a game with his only hit as a Met.
