HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

It sucked that Easley went down after having such a solid year off the bench, but I think that Conine is going to be a real difference maker. He's been here a few games now and has already knocked in some runs and gotten hits off the bench, just what we need.

I've always liked ol Conine the Barbarian and if we're fortunate enough to get in the playoffs, I think he's going to play a big part in our success.

He has one of the best nicknames in baseball - Conine the Barbarian.

How much does it say about a guy that three different teams brought him back for another tour of duty! He must be a good person to have both on and off the field.

When we acquired him, they said Conine brought a veteran presence and professionalism to the Mets bench. Well that's all he brought because he stunk.

Unfortunately, had nothing left when the Mets acquired him. At least he finished his career with a team that had a chance to compete instead of rotting in Cincinnati.

Did nothing for the Mets but was a great leader on the field and the players said they'd miss him. Glad he was on a part of the family!!

Because I hate myself I was looking at the box score from the final game of '07, he went 0-2, and that is when I learned he was ever on the Mets
