HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:
September 21, 2010 I had not known that Nickeas was another British Columbia native (like Jason Bay) until I checked his page here.
Already he has surpassed Joe Hietpas, Joe DePastino, and Francisco Estrada in the Mets Obscure Backup Catcher standings. Next stop: Jay Kleven.
April 23, 2011 You decide who should be the catcher of the Mets--I say Nickeas. I liked the way he worked behind the plate during Spring Training and the numbers so far this season prove he is the better catcher.
Through the end of April 21, 2011, in games Nickeas has started Mets are 3-2 with a 3.80 ERA. When Thole starts Mets are 3-11 with a 7.20 ERA.
Give me Nickeas.
