April 19, 2010 I remember John Mahalik at Binghamton AA for the BMets. The first week of the season the game was delayed by two snow squalls that would be ranked as storms anywhere else. Mahalik turned to the crowd with a WTF look that had us in stitches. Nice guy. Always had a minute to autograph and give baseballs to the kids. Has to be out of baseball now. Makes you wonder what those minor league guys do when they hit 40.
March 8, 2011 I found the website and the nice comment. I of course had to send in an update. I settled down in Carrollton, TX, a suburb of Dallas, married (to my wife whom I met while in AAA Norfolk) with 2 boys which are soon to start little league. I have a finance degree, an MBA, and just finished another degree in Mediation at Southern Methodist Univ. in Dallas. I have been serving as city council member for the past 6 years and was vice mayor for my town of 120K residents and work in financial accounting for an Amazon.com subsidiary.
My memories of the Mets and playing in Binghamton will always be with me and that is something I will always cherish. Thanks for the great website and feel free to hit me up on my Facebook page anytime to see that we don't get old, we just reproduce more ballplayers :-) All the best, John Mahalik (Mets 95-97)
July 2, 2011 Hey John, since you seem to check in here...what's with the three scoreless pitching appearances? I can see once in a blow out but three times in one season...without being scored and 4 Ks! Did you ever think of converting?
