HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

One night in Binghamton, I was lucky enough to get on the Auburn bus after the game. I loved the Mets, and I had the new New York Met yearbook. All the players wanted to look at it, and the bus driver was telling me to either get off the bus or I was going for a ride with the team. Jerry "Bear" Craft didn't want to give it to me because he wasn't done with it...finally, once the bus started rolling out into the street, he realized that he'd better give this 15 year old his book back. Just another "Met" tale.

Jerry "Bear" Craft is my father. I've been curious lately if there is any video footage of him playing. If any one knows anything about this I'd love to know about it. Some of my fondest memories of my Dad are him teaching me to play baseball and football in our backyard, and him teaching and coaching me in basketball. I wasn't quite the athlete he was. I played football through high school and into college, but that's where it ended for me. My Dad is still alive and kicking and enjoying his retirement and his grandchildren as much as possible.
