One of the toughest losses of the 1989 season, as both Myers and Aguliera were terrible, an extreme rarity to happen in the same game that season (before Aggy left in late July). I also imagine the Mets have not lost more than a handful of games in their history after scoring 5 times in the 1st inning. Of note, Strawberry missed this game, as he broke his toe on a hit by pitch the night earlier. It was something that affected him the rest of the season, as he put up his worst Mets season by far.
