Well another AMAZIN' come from behind win, hahaha. I was at a bar watching this game. I left the bar because I was mad that the Mets were losing, so when I got home and turned on the TV I saw the Mets had the bases loaded in the 9th with 2 outs with Beltran coming up. I was like, oh no, this is going to take a while especially the way Beltran has been hitting lately, so I got up to get something to drink in the kitchen. As soon as I opened the fridge to get my water I hear Gary Cohen screaming at the mike "ITS OUTTA HERE, ITS OUTTA HERE!!!" I ran out the kitchen and I see the ball landing in the right field seats of Dolphin Stadium. I was jumping for joy and almost cried my ass off of happiness. I have a good feeling about this Mets team. I think there is something special waiting for the Mets at the finish line when it's all said and done.

All was lost until Beltran came up to bat and really HIT a home run 12 ways to Christmas and then some. Howie Rose's call on WFAN was off the hook; I'm surprised that he didn't start yelling BELTRAN-BELTRAN-BELTRAN like he yelled MATTEAU-MATTEAU-MATTEAU in 1994. Probably one of the most classic dingers in Mets history along with Straw off the Busch Stadium clock in '85; Nails in Game 3 of the '86 NLCS, Pratt vs Arizona in '99 and Piazza's emotional round tripper 10 days after 9-11-2001.
Please note:
We're looking for your comments about this specific
game. We've had people use this space to share their thoughts on how the
current season is going, or on ways that the Mets can improve the team.
Such comments, unless in the context of
this particular game,
will be considered off-topic and will be removed.
Example One
The Mets suck! They need to trade Smith and get somebody like
Jones.
This comment is off-topic and will be removed. It has nothing to do with
any specific game. But here's an acceptable alternative:
Example Two
The Mets suck! Smith made three errors in this game, and hit into a
double play, and the Mets blew a 5-0 lead. They need to get rid of Smith
and get somebody like Jones.
See the difference? Here you're getting the same point across, but it's in
the proper context. We wouldn't consider this message to be off-topic, and
we would let it remain.
We do appreciate anybody who takes the time to share their thoughts on our
site, and we hate to remove anybody's postings. But if we didn't take
steps to ensure that only on-topic messages were retained, The Ultimate
Mets Database would become a confusing jumble of unrelated comments,
and would thus be less enjoyable to visitors like you.
Thank you!
