Hit a ball in Midland Texas off Henry Mack over the light tower. That's how the Cubs noticed him. After every homer he hit, I'd ask him, "J.D, you get all of it?" He'd say no, got jammed a little." However after that titanic blast he smiled and said "yep." david lozano February 23, 2009 My teammate in 1978 with the Lynchburg Mets. Another great player that got away from the Mets organization in the late 70's. We won the Carolina League Championship that year. Wally Backman also on that team. Jody went on to play in the playoffs with the Cubs in 1984.
