Says Grant: Seaver Is Forcing Me To Trade Him

Daily News columnist Dick Young firmly sided with the team in its dispute with Tom Seaver in 1977, and played a big part in Seaver's decision to ask to be traded. We see one of his anti-Seaver columns here, plus a typically bizarre Basement Bertha cartoon by Bill Gallo and an article about manager Joe Frazier's many attempts to find a productive lineup.

I tried reading this article, but it's like Mein Kampf. I can't read more than two lines without feeling disgusted and ceasing any further reading, mostly because I think of the author as a sadistic madman who was a product of a now by-gone era.
