Great story on a Mets game I remember very well. It was interesting to read that Jon Matlack was a bit apprehensive about facing the Reds' hitters (who could blame him) and didn't let anyone know how he felt. He took command of the situation and tossed a two-hit shutout for a much-needed win that evened the NLCS at one game apiece. Andy Kosco may have prevented a no-hitter, but it was still one of the best and most crucial pitching performances in Mets history.

In the photo on the left of Jon and his wife, I noticed the logo on the right sleeve of his jacket. It commemorates the seventy-fifth anniversary of the five boroughs coming together to form New York City as it is today. I didn't know of this celebration and was never aware of the logo.
