The Mets finished the 1999 season tied for the Wild Card with the Reds, forcing a do-or-die Game 163 for the right to advance to the playoffs. Al Leiter got the start, and flourished.

This story focuses on Al Leiter after his shutout victory in the National League Wild Card tie-breaker playoff at Cincinnati. It was Leiter's finest hour during his time with the Mets, the team of which he had once been a fan. Did the writer have to mention the word "cool" in so many ways to describe Leiter's excitement about the game? "Cool" is a very common term for people of young ages, but not generally for adults. The overuse of the word makes the article look immature and unprofessional.
