Mr. Disabled List. The poor guy had more injuries than Bud Harrelson. Didn't he run into the fence during his first week with the Mets and miss the rest of the season? Perhaps someone can help me with that one.

I was too young to see Ken in his playing days. Ken was a co-worker of mine for a little over a year. A real class act and professional. I wish him the best.

Here's your help! After an amazing spring, the Mets had found their R.B.I. guy. After about a week and 10+ balls caught on the track, Ken ran knee first into the wall in right. Thus ending his brief Mets' career.

Another guy who came to the Mets with a reputation as a solid player and did nothing in blue and orange.

Traded for Dale Murray! There's another forgettable pitcher!

I was a White Sox fan growing up and Ken Henderson had a couple of very good years for us, so when the Mets picked him up, I thought they might be getting someone who could help them. Of course, he was well known for being frequently injured, so of course the injury bug got him in New York. I didn't realize his Mets career was that brief, being limited to seven games. For all his injuries, he had one year with the White Sox where he actually played all 162 games, and he drove in close to 100 runs that year, so when he was healthy he was no slouch. When he came up with the Giants, he was tagged as the next Willie Mays. So the Mets had, at the end of their careers, the original Willie Mays and the next Willie Mays.
