HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

About all that I remember about Ronn is that he spelled his name that way (maybe in honor of Donn Clendenon or Randy Bobb) and that he played a bigger role in the Sidd Finch book than he did in real life.

He made me long for Clint Hurdle.

I don't know about anyone else. But I was in high school when he was with the Mets and we had a Ronn Reynolds fan club.

Only Met non-pitcher not to get in the infamous 19 inning win in Atlanta on July 4, 1985. Davy kept him available to replace Gary Carter but The Kid stayed in all 19 innings and Reynolds just sat on the bench.

3 ribbies in 113 at-bats in his Met career. Pretty much a defensive guy.

I never saw Ronn Reynolds play, but I remember seeing his 1986 Topps card for the first time and judging from the picture, I thought he looked like a really good player. He had a really intense look on his face while he was tagging someone out, from my recollection. Then I looked at the back of the card and I was like "uh oh - I guess not".

By the '86 season, the first year I watched the Mets, they had shipped him off to Philadelphia. One of the worst hitting catchers of all time.
