HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

Does anybody know what happened to Dave? He was a hot prospect when he came up. He won 6 games that year and he has never had a season as good as that one.

I got to meet Dave briefly when I was younger because he was a long time friend of my uncle. Dave was a very nice, down to earth guy who always took time to sign autographs for kids and talk to the fans. He retired in 1998 (after three years with the A's) and I believe he works with his brother helping to run his parents apple orchard in rural Upstate Middletown, N.Y. Thanks for the memories Dave, and for taking time to make a kid's day!

Dave left the Mets after the 1995 season and signed as a free agent with Oakland. He started 33 games for Oakland in 1996/97. In June 1997 he missed a couple of starts with a blister then sprained a ligament in his arm.

In 1998 he got into eight games as a long reliever and spot starter. But he tore an ACL in June when his spikes got caught in the turf trying to field a slow roller in front of the mound in Minnesota. He missed the rest of the 1998 season. He filed for free agency and signed with Cleveland in January 1999 but he never played another game in the major leagues.

Mr. Telgheder is in 2005 currently my sports marketing teacher in Minisink Valley High School, in Minisink, New York. He is a great guy and loves baseball.

He looked promising to me in '93, despite the high ERA. Unfortunately, it looks like '93 was the highpoint of his big-league career. How many '93 Mets can say that?

He is my school principal and helps motivate me with my school work.
