Share your memories of Duaner Sanchez
HERE IS WHAT OTHER METS FANS HAVE TO SAY:

Sanchez is simply a great reliever for the Mets. When he comes in, I never get worried...unlike when Wagner comes in unfortunately. I always think of Sanchez being similar to what Tom Gordon was for the Yankees as far as reliability. In a bullpen full of great relievers, Sanchez comes out on top.

I'm saddened about Duaner's season ending injury thanks to some stupid driver in Miami. He was absolutely amazing, only having a small handful of lackluster appearance against many amazing performances. Wishing him a quick and full recovery so he could come back and excel next year.

Had the great year in 2006 until the accident. This spring there were many updates on his attempt to return to the Mets, some of which criticized him for not being in shape and for having a bad attitude, and now for months there's been no word on him. Anyone know what's going on?

Duaner came back tonight in a very emotional return. Closed out the Nationals in a 6-0 win. Amazing to think of what could have been different for the Mets had he never gotten hurt. We would have kept Xavier Nady, and likely never would see Guillermo Mota, Shawn Green, Bert Hernandez, or even Ollie Perez in the Mets uni. And in all likelihood, would have a World Championship and one more division title. I am very happy he's back and I hope he pitches great.

I just heard he was released. He was never the same after the Miami cab incident.

I join those who agree that his Miami cab incident marked the turning point in the Mets' fortune, leaving the team with a variety of heartbreaking shortcomings since '06...

He was on his way to a Dominican restaurant... well past midnight(!) when he had his accident. The 2006 Mets were never the same after that.
