Obviously, we're still in the early going, but I like what I've seen so far. Ryan Church appears to be a hustling young guy who's out to prove something. Willie should keep him batting second, and hide the aging Luis Castillo at the bottom of the order. Oh, by the way: Lastings Who?

Ryan Church is the Mets 2008 MVP thus far.

So far this season, he's been the best player on the team especially his home run hitting and then throwing out the D-Backs Chris Burke at 3rd base in Phoenix recently. How ironic is that a ballplayer with the surname of CHURCH has his at-bat music from Black Sabbath whose lead singer Ozzy Osbourne's nickname is the "Prince of Darkness".

Ryan Church is an animal. I'm so glad we traded for him. This guy is the heart and soul of the team right now and he better be an All-Star this year!

I love this guy. Thus far he's been the teams MVP.

I take back what I said in my Xavier Nady post. This guy is great. It's just too bad for him and what he is going through with his concussion. I wish him well and hope he is back in RF real soon. He has to be the biggest surprise of 2008.

Not since Keith Hernandez rumbled, stumbled, and bumbled like a drunk in a sports bar into third base in Game Three of the 1988 NLCS has there been a slide as memorable as Ryan Church's against the Cubs on 25 Sept. 2007. The only difference is that Kai Hernandez's future husband was out on that play.

It's a shame what happened to him this year. He was on his way to having a real nice season. Who knows what could have happened if he didn't get hurt. He could have been the difference this season. Two concussions in such a short time is a lot on the body. I hope that it doesn't hamper his future.

His first month or two of '08 was fantastic and I thought we had a keeper. Now I'm hearing that there are whispers that Mr. Church hates playing in NY and is not fond of the Mets in general. Oh well. If that's the case then trade him to a baseball purgatory like Kansas City. This way he can play in anonymity like he did before.

Church likes it here, buddy.

Him not liking New York is a made up story by a brain dead radio talk show host who for some reason "fans" take as the truth.

Like it or not, he's a part of history: The last Mets batter in the history of Shea Stadium where he flew out to center to end the game and end 45 seasons of a still beloved place which is now a parking lot.

Ryan Church made Citi Field history, with was that his only Met home run in Citi Field. It landed in the Big Apple in center field. The announcers declared that it was first home run that landed in the Big Apple.
