The Mets released this guy after pitching only 3 innings in 2009. Since then, he has pitched very well for the Rangers with an exceptional WHIP of 0.93.

If I remember correctly, the Mets picked up Darren in the rule 5 draft in the off season. The Mets had to keep him on the Major League team roster the entire season, as per the rule 5 draft rules. They were forced early in the season to make a roster change, perhaps for injury, the reason escapes me. He was placed on waivers and was picked up by Texas. He would've had to be returned to the Angels if he wasn't picked up anyway.
