A trade just to make a trade? Possibly. Ryan Church wanted out, and the Manuel/Minaya team wanted him out too. Jeff could be a sparkplug that gets what is left of our decimated team going until the end.

First post in a while. The Mets are on a five game winning streak right now, and I feel like it goes back directly to Jeff. He has been a revelation since coming over. I never could stand him as a Brave, but I realized his talent. He's been hitting extremely well so far, and I only hope it continues. He has the right attitude and is the best right fielder the Mets have had since Darryl.

OK, Omar did something right. Jeff could be a long-time fixture here. If the Mets start winning and he puts up numbers he could become the a Met version of Paul O'Neill. Played very well this year and is the type of hard-nosed player that has been lacking. We will see...

Does this guy no what a strike zone is? Seriously, you could throw the ball in the dirt 3 times and he would swing at all 3 of them.

Sorry to see Jeff traded although it is completely understandable; he consistently shows poor discipline at the plate and has had numerous long slumps at the plate this year. On the up side he is a very likeable what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of guy so often missing in today's Mets clubhouse. I guess his 9th inning game winning home run off Billy Wagner in Atlanta this July will be his Met career highlight. Good luck, Jeff

I don't like the fact that Jeff got traded but let's just hope that he helps the Rangers to their first World Series ever and it would even be better if he helps defeat those evil bums from the Bronx along the way!

He always looked like he was smiling. Except for the time he hit into the second game-ending triple play in MLB history. He definitely wasn't smiling after that one.I was sorry that his Texas Rangers lost the 2010 World Series, not that I had that passionate a rooting interest in it, of course.

I guess I should add that it was an UNASSISTED, game-ending triple play that Francoeur hit into. Again, only the second one in MLB history. Unfortunately, it came against the Phillies.
