And despite having just 500 at-bats once and 100 hits twice with the club, he really was quite solid offensively. In 2014, he earned MVP votes after hitting 30 home runs with 92 RBI; he averaged about 25 home runs and 80 RBI per 162 games with New York. He had defensive woes, but I can't say anything bad about Duda. Just a good guy to have in the lineup.

I remember when he first came up in 2010 and was like, "who the heck is this guy?" I remember how much he struggled in the early going—he had one hit in his first 33 at-bats. What I didn't remember is how much he turned it on after his initial struggles, finishing his first stint with the big club by hitting .314/.346/.647 over his final 51 ABs.

I sent him an autograph request through the Mets in 2015 and he didn't sign. He did sign, however, after I sent him a request through the Royals in 2018. I accidentally included an Alex Dickerson card with my request and he "signed" that card (with a fake Dickerson signature) as well!
