May 31, 2012 Finally! After more than fifty years, the Mets have a player with a last name that starts with a Q. Not a bad start with three hits in his first game. Welcome to New York, Omar!
July 18, 2012 The Mets have just sent down Quintanilla, who is batting in the .250-.260 range, to make room for a man batting well under .200, Jason Bay. There you have the current state of Mets management in a nutshell.
June 21, 2013 Watching Omar Quintanilla play shortstop every day for the Mets reminds me of that scene in the Bad News Bears where Kelly Leak is batting, but he's being a punk, not really trying, and Walter Matthau calls time. He goes out there and says, "what's the matter with you? I'll put Miguel in, at least he'll try!"
In this equation, Kelly Leak is Ruben Tejada and Miguel is Omar Quintanilla.
At least he tries.
November 28, 2014 Good Met, good defender, he'll long be forgotten. Much better than given credit for in regards to defense. Future Mets manager in 2026 and he'll bring them to a championship. You heard it here first. No joke...
