In 2012, Mike Baxter came out of nowhere and had a great year off the bench for New York. I remember in 2013, some fans were saying (or wishing or hoping or dreaming) that Andrew Brown would be that year's Mike Baxter. He wasn't, hitting .227, and for the most part he just ended up wasting space on their roster.
It's a bit of a shame, as he did have very good power in the minors, but he was your typical Quadruple-A player -- a bit too good for Triple-A, not good enough for the majors.
After his tenure with the Mets ended in 2014, he went to Korea and had a great season, hitting 28 home runs and scoring 82 runs for SK Wyverns in 2015.
