April 1, 2008 When this fellow was playing in the minors, he did a TV commercial for the local ... Burger King. McD's sued for copyright infringement. I seem to remember that they lost as Ronald was simply using his own name and that it was some landmark case. I'm curious to hear how true that was and if anyone has any further detail.
April 3, 2009 Played in Lynchburg with Ron. He could flat out rope! He had a great year that year. Surprised he didn't make it
May 2, 2010 Played ball with him for a few years as my neighbor in Wisconsin. Watched him for 2 years in Norfolk as his guest every home game. Ron had the talent and skills early in life and I always knew he'd make the bigs one day. AAA was close enough in my book, very down-to-earth guy. It would've been great to see him go up with the rest of the guys from '82-86 that made the roster for the '86 Series.
July 13, 2010 I remember listening to the Tidewater games on the radio in 1981, which were on only because of the baseball strike. I remember Ronald being in the lineup. A few years later I called Joe McIllvane on a talk show on WFAN asking what happened to him, and that it would have been fun to have Ronald MacDonald in the same lineup with Howard Johnson. He said that the Mets had better players coming up and had been released.
