August 10, 2008 Warthen is the real deal. He comes out to the mound and means business and I like that. Nothing is for show and that's what the Mets are about.
July 1, 2010 Besides being a decent pitching coach (the Mets haven't had a great p.c. since Mel S. left), Dan looks like a dead ringer for the actor who played the father of Brian Wilson (the Beach Boys singer and NOT the S.F. Giants current closer) in the ABC-TV movie about the music group. LOL
August 9, 2010 With those glasses, I think he looks more like Floyd the Barber from "The Andy Griffith Show."
March 21, 2011 Once upon a time, Dan Warthen was a flamethrowing young pitcher with the Montreal Expos. He had a good rookie year in 1975 but never did much after that.
